Samsung and Panasonic start selling 3D televisions this week. For $3000 you get a 46inch set, 2 pairs of glasses, and a 3D blu ray player.

These sets require big glasses, and there isnt much to watch in the 3D format, it will take at least a few years for the technology to become mainstream, if that happens at all. The sales debut is very well marketed with movie goers showing huge enthusiasm for the latest wave of 3D titles in theatre. Last weekend, “Alice in Wonderland” beat “Avatar” in its first weekend opening with $116.2 million.

Sounds pretty cool, but I dont know if im ready to start watching 3D movies on anything less then an IMAX Theatre sized screen.
